Due to several requests recently for another sculpture course, I have decided it’s time to offer this new exciting three-day workshop.
Starting with the human head as the subject, this course will involve not only concentrated focus on the technical anatomy of a head, but will also walk you through how to inject personal expression into the work and explore visual dynamics of sculpture.
Working from a live model, you will be learning measuring and observation skills, skull and neck structure and construction.
Building movement and dynamics into a head sculpture.
We will be looking at how other sculptors over the years have incorporated self expression and experimentation into a sculpted head.
For those of you who are new comers to figurative sculpture, you will be encouraged to find your own creative freedom and voice, within the confines of the subject matter, structure and material.
For those of you who are confident within this field, you will be encouraged to deepen and explore your creative language further.
You will also be shown slab building, modelling techniques, and how to construct a clay head for kiln firing, information on the best clays and tools to use.
At the end of the course you will have a clay head which you are free to take away, or you could have your creation hollowed and fired (Extra cost).
Please let us know if you would like more information or book a place on this years course.
