‘The Laurence’
One of Eve’s latest commissions honours the late Brian Bourne and his young son Laurence, as a tribute to grief and child loss.
Born of Polish-Jewish descent, Brian’s rags-to-riches story is depicted in the sculpture, symbolising the family’s journey from a London street vendor to building a multimillion-dollar business.
The piece aims to capture the essence of Brian’s heritage, emphasising the resilience and entrepreneurial spirit that defined his life. Additionally, the sculpture tenderly commemorates the tragic loss of the youngest Bourne, Laurence, who passed away at just age three.
Eve has incorporated symbols relevant to the Bourne family in the sculpture, adding a personal touch to the piece.
